The Opportunity
An established automotive service business in South Australia is looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic with a strong background in European vehicles to join its full-time workshop team.
This opportunity is suited to a mechanic who enjoys complex diagnostics, technical problem-solving and working across premium European vehicle brands. You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a broad range of vehicle systems while working to high professional and safety standards.
Candidates with experience across brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Volvo, Land Rover or Range Rover will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive servicing, diagnosis and repair of European vehicles
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults across vehicle systems
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering and suspension components
- Inspect engines, transmissions and other major components for wear, damage and faults
- Remove, repair, replace and reinstall defective mechanical components
- Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance requirements
- Perform oil and filter changes, fluid replacement, lubrication and brake servicing
- Carry out engine tune-ups and other routine mechanical repairs
- Use advanced diagnostic scanners and computerised equipment to identify vehicle faults
- Interpret diagnostic fault codes, wiring diagrams and manufacturer technical information
- Follow manufacturer-recommended repair and service procedures
- Test vehicle systems and components following repairs
- Conduct road testing and final inspections to confirm vehicle performance
- Maintain clear and accurate service, repair and diagnostic records
- Ensure all workshop activities comply with safety procedures and quality standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised automotive mechanical trade qualification or equivalent
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Motor Mechanic
- Proven hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing European vehicles
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic capabilities
- Practical experience using automotive scan tools and computerised diagnostic equipment
- Ability to independently identify faults and complete repairs
- Experience with European brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Volvo or Land Rover will be highly regarded
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and manufacturer information
- Good English communication skills
- Current driver's licence
- Ability and willingness to work full-time in South Australia
