Job Description
The Opportunity
Put your trade skills to work on established structural steel projects in New South Wales. An opportunity is available for a capable Boilermaker who can bring solid fabrication experience, accurate welding skills and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
The role is suited to a qualified tradesperson who is confident working from engineering drawings and delivering quality structural steel fabrication in a production-focused environment. With an immediate start and potential for ongoing work, it offers a practical pathway for experienced tradespeople seeking stability and continued industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to project specifications
- Carry out MIG welding on structural steel and fabricated components
- Interpret engineering and fabrication drawings accurately
- Measure, mark and prepare materials for cutting and assembly
- Complete fitting, welding and fabrication tasks to required quality standards
- Check finished work for accuracy, weld quality and dimensional compliance
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and correctly
- Follow established site, workshop and workplace safety procedures
- Maintain required PPE and safe working practices
- Keep work areas clean, organised and free from hazards
- Coordinate with other trades and project team members
- Complete assigned fabrication work within required production timeframes
- Identify and report quality, equipment or safety issues
- Support efficient workflow across structural steel projects
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant trade qualification such as Boilermaker, Fitter or Cert III Engineering & Fabrication
- Demonstrated experience in structural steel fabrication
- Strong practical MIG welding capability
- Ability to understand and work from engineering drawings
- White Card
- Own appropriate tools and PPE
- Reliable approach with strong attention to quality and detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements
- EWP ticket desirable
- Working at Heights certification desirable
- Forklift licence desirable
- Availability for Monday-to-Friday work
