Cafe Duty Manager

The role is based in New Zealand and offers exposure to a varied cafe environment, including coffee preparation, customer service, food handling, stock management, and daily cafe operations.

• Deliver friendly, professional service to customers
• Operate the point-of-sale system and handle customer payments
• Prepare coffee and assist with beverage service
• Heat and serve food items safely and efficiently
• Maintain clean, organised and hygienic cafe areas
• Monitor and replenish stock and display products
• Assist with coffee packing and product preparation
• Support smooth cafe operations during busy periods
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain service standards
• Follow food safety, workplace health and safety procedures
• Maintain professional presentation and conduct at all times
• Adapt to different duties according to daily operational requirements

• Previous experience in hospitality, cafes or customer service is preferred
• Barista experience will be highly regarded
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident and professional approach when dealing with customers
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to take responsibility and work independently when required
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good personal presentation and professional conduct
• Availability to work weekends, including at least one Sunday
