Care Assistant

We are connecting suitably qualified and experienced Aged Care Workers and Personal Care Assistants with established aged care providers across Australia. The focus is on identifying candidates whose qualifications, practical experience, communication skills and approach to person-centred care align with the requirements of Australian care environments.

• Provide respectful, person-centred support to residents in their daily lives
• Assist with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and appropriate mobility equipment
• Assist with meals, hydration and feeding according to individual requirements
• Provide companionship and encourage positive social interaction
• Support residents to participate in daily routines and appropriate activities
• Follow individualised care plans and established care procedures
• Monitor residents and communicate relevant changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing
• Complete accurate care records, progress notes and required documentation
• Apply appropriate infection control, manual handling and workplace safety practices
• Work effectively alongside nurses, care workers, allied health professionals and families
• Protect residents’ privacy, dignity, cultural considerations and personal preferences
• Encourage independence, comfort, safety and quality of life

• Relevant qualification in aged care, healthcare, nursing assistance or personal care
• Previous experience in aged care, residential care or disability support is advantageous
• Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care
• Good spoken and written English communication skills
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to supporting older people
• Professional attitude and commitment to resident wellbeing
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care environment
• Willingness to complete required screening, police checks and health assessments
• Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and varying shifts
