The Opportunity
We are connecting experienced heavy mobile plant professionals with FIFO Product Support Advisor opportunities across Western Australia.
This is an opportunity for technicians who have built their careers around diagnosing complex equipment issues, improving fleet reliability and supporting high-performance mining operations. Rather than focusing solely on workshop repairs, the role combines technical expertise with on-site advisory responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to influence equipment performance and maintenance outcomes.
Candidates with strong Caterpillar fleet experience will be particularly well suited to these positions. Your trade qualifications, practical experience and technical capabilities will be assessed as part of the candidate matching process to ensure your profile aligns with the requirements of the available site-based opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Caterpillar heavy mobile equipment
- Identify mechanical and technical issues affecting fleet performance
- Provide practical technical guidance to frontline maintenance teams
- Carry out inspections and assess equipment condition
- Support preventative maintenance and reliability improvement programs
- Assist with planned component change-outs and warranty activities
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics to reduce equipment downtime
- Recommend practical solutions to improve equipment availability and effectiveness
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across mining operations
- Combine technical advisory work with hands-on tooling when required
- Maintain accurate service, inspection and technical documentation
- Share technical knowledge and support training activities where required
- Build effective working relationships with customers and site maintenance personnel
- Follow site safety procedures and ensure all work is completed to required standards
- Work effectively within FIFO rosters and extended 12-hour shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or equivalent international trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience working with large-scale mining or heavy mobile equipment
- Strong Caterpillar equipment and fleet experience highly regarded
- Previous mine-site, field-service or heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Proven ability in diagnostics, fault-finding and technical troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability
- Ability to provide clear technical advice while working collaboratively with maintenance teams
- Willingness to undertake hands-on mechanical work when required
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work safely and effectively in remote FIFO mining environments
- High-risk work licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights will be advantageous
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and rostered FIFO arrangements
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
