Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of dishes to established quality and presentation standards
- Maintain consistency in flavour, portioning, plating, and overall food quality
- Contribute ideas to menu planning and the development of new dishes
- Lead and support cooks and other kitchen team members
- Organise food preparation and maintain efficient kitchen operations during service
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, food cost control, and waste reduction
- Follow correct procedures for food storage, temperature monitoring, and stock rotation
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety
- Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are properly maintained and kept in a hygienic condition
- Work closely with the wider team to support smooth and efficient service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant full-time experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Strong practical cooking and food preparation skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Experience supporting, supervising, or coordinating kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety, stock management, food costing, and waste control
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
