A quality-focused hospitality venue in Queensland is seeking an experienced Sous Chef who can bring proven kitchen capability, reliable leadership and a strong commitment to food standards.

This full-time, permanent opportunity is suited to a chef who has developed solid commercial kitchen experience and is ready to contribute their skills within a professional and supportive team. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate genuine hands-on ability, consistency and a strong understanding of modern cooking practices.

• Lead by example during daily kitchen operations
• Prepare and present modern dishes to a consistently high standard
• Demonstrate practical knowledge across multiple cooking techniques
• Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning and presentation
• Support smooth kitchen service during busy trading periods
• Assist with coordinating kitchen tasks and maintaining workflow
• Follow established food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment
• Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen team members
• Assist with maintaining required preparation and service standards
• Contribute to an efficient and positive kitchen culture
• Maintain professional presentation and grooming standards

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Approximately 1–3 years of relevant commercial kitchen experience
• Demonstrated hands-on capability in a professional kitchen environment
• Experience working with a range of cooking methods and food styles
• Strong understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety
• Ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
• Good organisation and time-management skills
• Professional appearance and reliable work ethic
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including evenings
• Current CV demonstrating relevant experience and qualifications
• Professional referees with current email addresses and phone numbers
