Your culinary experience can open the door to more than another kitchen job. This opportunity is suited to a qualified and experienced chef who can demonstrate proven capability in a professional restaurant environment and is ready to bring those skills to an established Queensland venue.
You’ll join a professional kitchen where consistency, technique and quality matter. Working with experienced chefs and premium local and international produce, you’ll have the opportunity to strengthen your skills across authentic Italian and Roman cuisine while contributing to a busy lunch and dinner operation.
The role is particularly suited to chefs who take pride in their work, understand professional kitchen standards and want their existing experience to be recognised in an Australian hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes consistently throughout service
- Work across lunch and dinner operations in a busy professional kitchen
- Prepare traditional Italian and Roman-style dishes using quality ingredients
- Apply classical cooking methods and professional kitchen techniques
- Assist with handmade pasta and other fresh menu preparations
- Maintain high standards of presentation, portion control and food quality
- Complete daily mise en place and preparation requirements efficiently
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures
- Maintain an organised, clean and efficient workstation
- Work effectively during high-volume service periods
- Communicate clearly with chefs and wider kitchen staff
- Support smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen
- Contribute to a positive, disciplined and team-focused workplace
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years’ professional experience as a Qualified Chef
- Relevant recognised culinary trade qualification or trade certificate
- Demonstrated experience in a quality-focused restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment
- Strong understanding of professional food preparation and kitchen procedures
- Ability to demonstrate consistent cooking and presentation standards
- Interest in classical techniques and authentic Italian cuisine
- Strong organisation, time management and multitasking skills
- Effective communication and active listening skills
- Reliable, motivated and committed approach to professional kitchen work
- Willingness to learn, develop and contribute within an experienced kitchen team
- Ability to work scheduled lunch and dinner services
