Client Manager

Job Description

The Opportunity

This opportunity is designed for experienced public practice professionals who value credibility, trusted client relationships and a career built around delivering genuine business value.

The employer is seeking a skilled Client Manager to join a professional accounting and business advisory team in New South Wales, Australia. Through our verified candidate process, we help connect employers with suitably qualified professionals whose experience, qualifications and professional background can be clearly presented.

Unlike a traditional public practice role centred around billable hours and timesheets, this position offers a more client-focused approach. The firm's monthly subscription model allows for stronger ongoing relationships and greater focus on business advisory, strategy and practical support.

You will work directly with business owners, manage an established client portfolio and provide advice that helps clients make informed decisions and achieve their business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and strengthening long-term relationships with an established portfolio of business clients
  • Acting as a trusted adviser and key point of contact for client accounting and advisory needs
  • Providing practical and commercially focused business advice
  • Reviewing financial performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting business owners with planning, cash flow management and forecasting
  • Providing guidance on tax strategies and broader business matters
  • Overseeing accounting and taxation compliance work
  • Reviewing client requirements and ensuring a high standard of professional service
  • Identifying proactive solutions that support client growth and business objectives
  • Collaborating with internal teams to deliver accurate and timely outcomes

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3–5 years of public practice accounting experience
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Proven experience managing business clients and developing professional relationships
  • Strong business advisory and commercial skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Confidence working directly with business owners and senior decision-makers
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and taxation compliance requirements
  • A proactive, client-focused and solutions-oriented approach
  • Australian work experience will be highly regarded
