We are looking for two Climbing Arborists to join an established tree care operation servicing commercial, rural and residential customers throughout the Eastern Bay of Plenty. The work offers genuine variety, from technical removals and reductions to larger commercial projects and detailed residential tree care.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete professional climbing arborist work across commercial, rural and residential sites
- Carry out tree reductions, pruning and technical removals
- Undertake large-scale commercial arboricultural projects
- Complete residential tree care and removal work to a high professional standard
- Use climbing and rigging systems appropriately for different tree work requirements
- Carry out dismantling and removal of trees using safe and controlled techniques
- Operate specialist arborist machinery and equipment where required
- Assess work areas and follow established site safety procedures before commencing work
- Help protect retained trees, vegetation, buildings and surrounding property
- Maintain and correctly use climbing equipment, PPE, tools and machinery
- Work collaboratively with other arborists and ground crew
- Participate in regular paid training and professional development
- Assist with emergency tree work and callout services when required
- Maintain reliable, professional and safety-conscious work practices
Requirements & Eligibility
- Level 3 or Level 4 Arboriculture qualification, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience working as a climbing arborist
- Competence in aerial tree work and climbing techniques
- Practical experience with rigging and technical tree removals
- Ability to work safely at height in physically demanding outdoor conditions
- Class 1 driver's licence essential
- Class 2 or heavy transport licence advantageous
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable, honest and professional approach to work
- Ability to work effectively within a specialist arboriculture team
- Willingness to undertake further training and qualification development
- Overseas applicants with relevant arboriculture experience are encouraged to apply
