CNC Machine Operator / Machinist

In this role, you will independently set up, prove and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture and repair precision-engineered components. You will work on one-off and small-batch projects using advanced CNC machining centres, producing components ranging from precision parts to large industrial equipment. The position offers exposure to complex engineering projects, modern CNC technology and a supportive team environment with opportunities for long-term career growth.

• Set up, prove and operate CNC milling machines independently
• Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and workholding solutions
• Perform machine setup, adjustments and program verification
• Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product quality and accuracy
• Maintain high standards of precision, workmanship and safety
• Produce one-off and small-batch components across a variety of engineering projects
• Identify and resolve machining issues to maximise productivity
• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet project deadlines
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and organised condition
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and efficient manufacturing practices

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with strong CNC milling experience
• Ability to independently set up, prove and operate CNC milling machines
• Experience operating multi-axis CNC machining centres in a precision engineering environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Sound knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools and tolerances
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
• Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively within a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• Relevant trade qualification or equivalent industry experience is highly regarded
