CNC Operator /Craftsman

This is an opportunity for a skilled CNC Joiner / Cabinetmaker to take their experience into a modern manufacturing environment where quality, accountability and proven ability matter.

The focus is not simply on having a particular job title on your CV. We are looking for people who can demonstrate what they can actually do — whether that experience has been gained in New Zealand or overseas.

You’ll be involved in producing high-quality plywood kitchens, cabinetry and furniture while working with CNC technology and structured Lean manufacturing processes.

For the right person, this is more than a production role. It offers a pathway to develop specialist CNC skills, take greater ownership and progress into senior and leadership positions.

• Operate CNC machinery to manufacture cabinetry and furniture components
• Produce accurate plywood components to required specifications
• Complete cabinet assembly, finishing and quality checks
• Identify production issues and contribute to practical solutions
• Maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the manufacturing process
• Support installation work when required
• Keep work areas organised and follow workshop systems
• Apply Lean manufacturing and 3S principles in daily operations
• Look for practical ways to reduce waste and improve production efficiency
• Work collaboratively while taking responsibility for individual tasks
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and presentation
• Develop capability across CNC machining, joinery and cabinetry processes
• Participate in workplace training and continuous-improvement initiatives
• Progress toward greater responsibility as skills and performance develop

• Relevant experience in joinery, cabinetmaking, CNC machining or furniture manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to produce quality work with accuracy and attention to detail
• A reliable and responsible approach to work
• Strong practical problem-solving ability
• Willingness to learn new machinery, systems and production methods
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
• Positive attitude toward feedback, training and continuous improvement
• CNC, HOMAG, WoodWOP or IMOS experience is advantageous
• International trade experience is welcomed
• New Zealand industry experience is not essential
• Valid New Zealand manual driver licence
• Ability to drive a long-wheelbase manual van
• Willingness to complete required Lean training before commencing a trial
• Ability to provide a short video introduction as part of the application process
