CNC Saw Operator

We are seeking an experienced CNC Saw Operator / CNC Machinist to join a leading stone fabrication company in the Bay of Plenty region, New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with experience operating CNC machinery within the stone manufacturing industry. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC bridge saws and machining centres to produce high-quality stone products for residential and commercial projects.

This is a full-time position offering 40–50 hours per week, competitive hourly rates.

• Program and operate CNC bridge saws and CNC machining centres
•  Interpret CAD/CAM files and technical drawings
•  Set up machines and prepare stone slabs for processing
•  Monitor cutting and machining operations to ensure accuracy
•  Produce finished products to precise measurements and quality standards
•  Inspect completed work for defects and dimensional accuracy
•  Perform routine machine maintenance and blade replacement
•  Identify and resolve basic machine operating issues
•  Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
•  Handle natural stone, engineered stone, marble, granite, quartz, and porcelain materials
•  Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
•  Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining or stone fabrication experience
•  Experience operating CNC bridge saws or similar CNC stone processing equipment
•  Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
•  Experience with CAD/CAM software is highly advantageous
•  Strong understanding of stone fabrication processes and materials
•  Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
•  Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
•  Physically fit and capable of handling heavy stone materials
•  Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
•  Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
•  Eligible to work in New Zealand or able to meet employer-sponsored visa requirements
