We are seeking a dependable Construction Labourer to support experienced trades teams across a range of building and infrastructure projects. The role offers the opportunity to gain local industry experience, strengthen practical skills, and progress within New Zealand’s construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support qualified tradespeople and site supervisors with day-to-day construction activities
- Prepare, organise, and maintain safe and efficient work areas
- Handle, transport, and store construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist with general building activities including concreting, carpentry, roofing, flooring, plastering, painting, glazing, plumbing, and drainage work
- Complete basic excavation tasks including digging trenches, foundations, and site preparation
- Assist with measuring, cutting, securing, and installing reinforcing materials and construction components
- Support installation of pipes, drainage systems, fittings, valves, and related infrastructure
- Assist with heating, cooling, and ventilation system pathway installations
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Carry out site cleaning, waste removal, and general labouring tasks
- Assist with temporary site setup including barriers, fencing, and other safety structures
- Identify and report site issues, hazards, or defects to supervisors
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain correct PPE standards
- Work collaboratively with construction teams to meet project requirements
- Complete additional duties as required by site supervisors
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 12 months of practical construction industry experience
- Experience supporting tradespeople or working on active construction sites
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in different weather conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools confidently
- Good communication skills and ability to follow workplace instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and team-focused attitude
- Willingness to learn new construction methods and develop professionally
