Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals in line with approved recipes and menu plans
- Follow patient dietary requirements and meal specifications accurately
- Coordinate food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
- Maintain consistent standards for food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Apply food safety, hygiene, infection control, and workplace safety procedures
- Complete kitchen duties efficiently within scheduled meal service times
- Assist with food storage, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and orderly commercial kitchen
- Work cooperatively with catering and support staff
- Respond professionally to changing service requirements and patient needs
- Contribute to a positive dining and meal experience for patients
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience as a Cook in commercial catering, hospitality, healthcare, aged care, or a similar kitchen environment
- Practical understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and safe food handling practices
- Relevant food handling or food safety certification
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, dietary instructions, and service schedules
- Availability for rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Professional attitude with a genuine commitment to quality and patient-focused service
- Ability to complete required employment, work-rights, and pre-employment checks
