The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mobile Crane Mechanic to join a well-established and growing heavy equipment company in Queensland. This role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of mobile cranes and heavy vehicles to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation across construction, industrial and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will work both in the workshop and on-site as required, using strong diagnostic skills to minimise downtime while maintaining high safety and quality standards. A fully maintained work vehicle, fuel card and mobile phone are provided, along with ongoing training, career development and long-term employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on mobile cranes and heavy equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Perform breakdown repairs and emergency call-outs when required
- Inspect, service and maintain heavy diesel engines and related components
- Complete maintenance records, inspection reports and service documentation
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and workplace safety standards
- Work effectively with operators, workshop staff and site personnel
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
- Support continuous improvement in equipment reliability and performance
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
- Minimum three years of experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Experience servicing mobile cranes or heavy plant equipment is highly desirable
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Current driver's licence (HR licence preferred)
- Construction White Card or ability to obtain one
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
