The Opportunity
A verified opportunity is available for a Dairy Farm Hand to join an established dairy farming operation in Victoria. This full-time role is suited to a dependable farm worker who takes pride in animal care, works well within a team and can confidently manage the day-to-day demands of a busy dairy environment.
The successful applicant will become part of a professional farming operation where practical livestock experience, reliability and a strong work ethic are highly valued. The position offers exposure to large-scale dairy production, including rotary milking, animal health, feeding and calving activities.
Sponsorship is available for the right applicant, providing an opportunity for a suitably experienced overseas worker to secure a genuine employment position in the Australian dairy industry.
Shared accommodation is available. Applicants must have their own vehicle and be prepared to commit to a full-time farm role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out milking duties using a 40-stand rotary dairy system
- Assist with the daily care and management of dairy cattle
- Monitor animal health and identify cattle requiring attention
- Move and handle cattle safely during routine farm activities
- Assist with calving and provide appropriate care to cows and calves
- Feed calves and support their ongoing development
- Operate a feed wagon for livestock feeding
- Assist with milking and dairy operations across the farming properties
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare and farm hygiene
- Complete general farm duties and routine property tasks
- Follow established workplace, animal welfare and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with farm management and other team members
- Manage daily tasks efficiently and meet farm schedules
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous experience in dairy farming, livestock or a similar agricultural environment
- Practical knowledge of cattle handling and animal care
- Experience with milking operations is highly regarded
- Ability to recognise and respond appropriately to animal health concerns
- Physically capable of undertaking demanding farm and livestock duties
- Reliable, self-motivated and willing to take responsibility
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good time management and ability to work to scheduled routines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
- Willingness to work flexible dairy farm hours
- Willingness to relocate and work full-time in Victoria
