Diesel Motor Mechanic

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) to join a well-established transport and logistics company in New South Wales. Working in a modern workshop, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a fleet of heavy commercial vehicles to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and compliance with Australian transport regulations.

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine faults
• Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and driveline components
• Rebuild and replace major mechanical components when required
• Use diagnostic equipment and specialised workshop tools to identify faults
• Complete repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards
• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation
• Ensure vehicles comply with Australian road safety and transport regulations
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Assist with breakdown support and emergency repairs when required
• Work collaboratively with the workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Heavy Diesel Motor Mechanic
• Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
• Strong experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Experience using diagnostic software and workshop equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engine systems and heavy vehicle maintenance
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current driver's licence preferred
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol assessment
