Electical Field Service Technician

A strong opportunity is available for an experienced Electrician / Electrical Field Service Technician to join an established Australian technical service operation supporting commercial catering and foodservice equipment.

This position is suited to a practical electrical professional who can confidently investigate faults, identify the cause of equipment problems and deliver effective repairs in both customer-site and workshop environments.

The successful candidate will work with a broad range of commercial electrical equipment, gaining exposure to servicing, commissioning, technical troubleshooting, warranty support and equipment setup.

• Attend commercial customer sites to investigate and resolve equipment faults
• Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment
• Service, repair and maintain commercial catering and foodservice equipment
• Perform electrical testing and verify equipment is operating safely and correctly
• Identify faulty electrical components and determine appropriate repair solutions
• Complete electrical wiring, component replacement and equipment modifications where appropriately licensed
• Install, test and commission new commercial equipment
• Provide practical technical assistance to customers and service technicians
• Respond to technical enquiries by telephone and email
• Support warranty investigations and follow service issues through to resolution
• Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical faults, components and spare parts
• Coordinate with contractors and external technicians when required
• Identify and arrange parts and components needed to complete repairs
• Assist with equipment assembly and electrical setup
• Maintain accurate service reports, repair records and parts information
• Support workshop and warehouse activities when required
• Apply safe working practices and comply with relevant electrical and workplace safety requirements

• Recognised electrical trade qualification
• Relevant electrical licence or appropriate licensing eligibility
• Demonstrated experience in electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, controls and components
• Experience servicing, repairing or maintaining electrical equipment
• Background in commercial appliances, industrial equipment, machinery, foodservice equipment or electro-mechanical systems is advantageous
• Ability to diagnose faults independently and identify practical repair solutions
• Previous field service or customer-site experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and technical personnel
• Professional approach when dealing with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and service teams
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Reliable, hands-on and safety-conscious work ethic
• Ability to maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Gas experience or relevant gas licence is advantageous
• Forklift experience or licence is advantageous
• Current Australian driver's licence or equivalent
