An established agricultural machinery operation in Western Australia is looking for a proven Agricultural Diesel Mechanic to support farming operations across workshop and field environments.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity suited to a mechanic who is confident working on modern agricultural machinery and understands the importance of keeping equipment operational during demanding planting and harvest periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair agricultural and heavy diesel machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults
- Work on tractors, headers, combines, sprayers, seeders and other agricultural equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce machinery downtime
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and complete field-based repairs when required
- Use diagnostic scan tools and modern equipment to identify and resolve faults
- Repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, drivelines and electrical systems
- Inspect machinery and identify potential mechanical issues before major breakdowns occur
- Complete repairs and servicing efficiently during peak agricultural seasons
- Fabricate, modify and adapt machinery components where required
- Maintain accurate workshop and service documentation
- Follow workplace safety, environmental and quality procedures
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers
- Participate in seasonal on-call arrangements when required
- Support the reliable operation of agricultural machinery across critical farming periods
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-trade experience
- Demonstrated experience working with agricultural machinery is essential
- Experience with broadacre, cropping, livestock or mixed-farming equipment is highly regarded
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic capabilities
- Ability to troubleshoot faults and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working across both workshop and outdoor field environments
- Physically capable of working in rural conditions and during seasonal periods
- Strong English communication skills and ability to communicate fluently in English
- Current driver's licence, with HR licence highly regarded
- Reliable, safety-focused and committed approach to work
