The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Restaurant Floor Manager to take a leadership role within a growing Italian dining business in New South Wales.
This position is suited to a hospitality professional who understands Italian cuisine, delivers outstanding customer experiences and has the confidence to lead a front-of-house team. You will be responsible for keeping restaurant operations organised, supporting staff performance and ensuring consistently high service standards.
The role begins on a part-time basis with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with a clear opportunity to progress into a full-time position. Sponsorship may also be available for the right candidate, subject to experience, performance and applicable eligibility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing front-of-house operations and daily restaurant service
- Leading and coordinating the restaurant floor team
- Working closely with the chef and management to ensure smooth service
- Allocating staff duties and coordinating floor activities
- Monitoring customer service and maintaining a positive dining experience
- Supervising staff performance and providing on-the-job guidance
- Training new and existing team members
- Ensuring workplace policies, procedures and service standards are followed
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Coordinating supplier orders according to seasonal requirements and availability
- Supporting management with the efficient operation of the restaurant
- Promoting a professional, welcoming and authentic Italian dining environment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurant management, floor management or a similar hospitality leadership role
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and Italian food products
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a hospitality team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and staff coordination abilities
- Experience training, supervising and motivating employees
- Ability to work effectively in a busy restaurant environment
- Good understanding of food hygiene and workplace procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Professional presentation and a customer-focused attitude
- Italian background or demonstrated familiarity with Italian cuisine is highly desirable
- Willingness to commence in a part-time capacity with the opportunity to transition to full-time
