Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team and coordinate daily kitchen operations
- Set and maintain high standards for food quality, presentation and consistency
- Oversee food preparation and ensure efficient service during busy periods
- Provide leadership, guidance and practical support to kitchen staff
- Train and develop team members to maintain strong kitchen performance
- Apply a range of professional cooking techniques across menu preparation
- Monitor portion control, food quality and kitchen productivity
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Manage stock, storage, ordering and ingredient control
- Support menu planning and contribute ideas for menu development
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment
- Work collaboratively with the wider hospitality team
- Manage shifts effectively across a flexible seven-day roster
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent trade qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant commercial kitchen experience
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a Head Chef or senior Sous Chef role
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a kitchen team
- Strong technical cooking skills and knowledge of different cooking styles
- Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced service environment
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of food safety legislation and HACCP procedures
- Ability to consistently maintain professional culinary and hygiene standards
- Flexible availability for day, evening, weekend and rostered shifts
- A current CV with professional referees and valid contact details
