Head Chef

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Head Chef to take the lead of a busy kitchen in a care community located in Victoria, Australia. You will have the opportunity to lead a talented team, create innovative menus, and play an important role in enhancing the daily dining experience of residents. 

The position offers a permanent full-time role with attractive remuneration, career development opportunities and a Monday to Friday roster. Visa sponsorship is available for suitably qualified and eligible candidates.

• Manage and lead all day-to-day kitchen operations
• Supervise, mentor and develop the kitchen team
• Create seasonal and creative menus
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appealing and suitable for resident needs
• Ensure dietary requirements are accurately accommodated
• Maintain exceptional food quality and presentation standards
• Ensure food safety and hygiene procedures are consistently followed
• Manage food purchasing, stock rotation and inventory
• Control kitchen costs and work within allocated budgets
• Maintain accurate kitchen and food safety records
• Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised and compliant
• Deliver a positive and enjoyable dining experience for residents

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef
• Previous experience leading and managing a kitchen team
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Strong menu planning and food preparation skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Experience with stock control and kitchen budgeting
• A strong commitment to food safety and quality
• A genuine interest in supporting people within a care environment
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment checks
• Police Check clearance
• NDIS Worker Screening Check eligibility
