Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic for a permanent opportunity with a well-established heavy vehicle service and repair operation in Victoria.

This position offers a varied and rewarding workload across trucks, trailers and other heavy vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing and repairs, completing maintenance work and ensuring all vehicles are returned to the road safely and efficiently.

• Carry out servicing and repairs on heavy diesel vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance
• Complete truck and trailer repairs
• Carry out warranty and manufacturer-related repair work
• Inspect vehicles and identify maintenance requirements
• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot faults
• Repair or replace defective components
• Ensure all work meets required quality standards
• Follow technical procedures and workshop processes
• Complete job cards and service documentation
• Maintain safe work practices at all times
• Keep workshop areas clean and organised
• Work closely with other technicians and workshop staff
• Take part in ongoing training and professional development

• Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Heavy Diesel Mechanic role
• Strong experience working with trucks and heavy vehicles
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Ability to work confidently in a busy workshop environment
• Experience with heavy vehicle dealership standards is highly regarded
• Experience working on trucks and trailers is desirable
• Strong commitment to quality and safety
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Professional and reliable approach to work
• Willingness to continue technical training and development
• HC Licence is advantageous
• Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is advantageous
