This position is suited to trade-qualified mechanics with strong road transport experience, particularly those familiar with Volvo and Mack prime movers and heavy multi-combination vehicles. You’ll join a modern workshop environment supporting a growing heavy transport operation, with a strong focus on equipment reliability, preventative maintenance and quality repairs.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy road transport equipment
- Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical faults across heavy multi-combination vehicles
- Maintain and repair Volvo and Mack prime movers
- Perform detailed fault diagnosis using appropriate mechanical and diagnostic methods
- Complete engine, transmission, driveline and other major component repairs
- Undertake component rebuilds and replacement work when required
- Identify potential mechanical issues before they develop into major failures
- Complete routine vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to required safety standards
- Work closely with workshop and operational teams to maintain fleet availability
- Follow established workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
- Maintain a professional and organised workshop environment
- Support preventative maintenance programs and continuous equipment reliability
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience in heavy road transport maintenance
- Strong hands-on experience with heavy multi-combination trucks
- Experience with Volvo and/or Mack Titan prime movers highly regarded
- Proven ability in mechanical fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Experience with preventative maintenance and major component repairs
- Current C Class Australian driver's licence essential
- HR licence highly regarded
- Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to work the required local roster
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to relocate to Western Australia where required
