Job Description
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Diesel Motor Mechanics to join a well-established transport and logistics company operating across New South Wales. You will work on a modern fleet of heavy vehicles, performing diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a safety-focused workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel trucks and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic software and scan tools
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections
- Repair and replace faulty mechanical components
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Operate in accordance with relevant safety standards and workshop procedures
- Ensure vehicles remain compliant with transport and maintenance requirements
- Work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Assist in maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience maintaining and repairing heavy diesel trucks and trailers
- Experience using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding software
- Experience working on heavy vehicle fleets is highly regarded
- Experience with Kenworth, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz or Cummins engines is advantageous but not essential
- Experience with BPW, K-Hitch or Hendrickson axle systems is desirable
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced workshop
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Forklift licence is desirable
- HR driver's licence is desirable
- Willingness to complete pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, and criminal history checks where required
