Heavy vehicle mechanic

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Diesel Motor Mechanics to join a well-established transport and logistics company operating across New South Wales. This full-time permanent position offers a competitive remuneration package, 12% superannuation, ongoing training, career progression, and the opportunity for employer sponsorship for suitable overseas candidates.

You will work on a modern fleet of heavy vehicles, performing diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a safety-focused workshop environment.

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel trucks and trailers
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic software and scan tools
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections
• Repair and replace faulty mechanical components
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Operate in accordance with relevant safety standards and workshop procedures
• Ensure vehicles remain compliant with transport and maintenance requirements
• Work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Assist in maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety standards

• Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing heavy diesel trucks and trailers
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding software
• Experience working on heavy vehicle fleets is highly regarded
• Experience with Kenworth, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz or Cummins engines is advantageous but not essential
• Experience with BPW, K-Hitch or Hendrickson axle systems is desirable
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced workshop
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Forklift licence is desirable
• HR driver's licence is desirable
• Willingness to complete pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, and criminal history checks where required
