Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general servicing, mechanical repairs, and maintenance on heavy trucks and commercial vehicles
- Perform advanced fault finding and diagnostic work using modern equipment and technology
- Complete mechanical and electrical repairs to manufacturer and industry standards
- Inspect, test, and identify vehicle issues accurately and efficiently
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure all repairs are completed safely
- Work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors, and parts department teams
- Provide professional support and communication when dealing with customers
- Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Stay updated with evolving vehicle technology through ongoing training
- Support efficient workshop operations and achieve service targets
Requirements & Eligibility
Relevant automotive qualification, preferably as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
Proven experience in heavy vehicle or truck mechanical repairs
Experience with franchise truck dealerships is preferred but not essential
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues
Commitment to quality workmanship, accuracy, and efficiency
Genuine passion for the truck and heavy vehicle industry
Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
Truck licence or forklift licence is advantageous
