The role is with a mechanical services operation supporting essential fleet and Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Your verified trade qualifications, practical experience and ability to meet the requirements of a controlled aviation environment will be important to your success.
You will work across a varied range of mechanical equipment, with opportunities to apply your diagnostic and repair skills in an environment where reliability, accountability and safety are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, service and repair light vehicles, heavy vehicles and Ground Support Equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, diesel and hydraulic faults using systematic troubleshooting methods
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
- Attend breakdowns and complete effective on-site repairs
- Identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repair solutions
- Work safely within controlled operational and airside environments
- Maintain accurate service records, job reports and maintenance documentation
- Complete repairs in accordance with workplace safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with other mechanics and operational team members
- Communicate professionally with clients and relevant workplace personnel
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organised condition
- Apply practical knowledge and previous trade experience to specialised equipment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Approximately 5 years or more of relevant hands-on mechanical experience
- Demonstrated experience working with light vehicles, heavy vehicles or heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to provide evidence of trade qualifications and relevant work experience
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and professional standards
- Current HR Driver Licence
- Welding experience is advantageous
- GSE or aviation-related mechanical experience is advantageous
- Diesel, hydraulic and breakdown maintenance experience is advantageous
- Ability to obtain a Police Clearance
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Ability to successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening
- Willingness to undergo employment, qualification and identity verification processes
