Job Description
The Opportunity
An established industrial coatings business in Western Australia is looking for experienced Blaster Painters to join its ongoing full-time operations.
This opportunity is suited to tradespeople who take pride in quality surface preparation, protective coating application and safe work practices. You’ll work across a range of industrial projects using professional blasting and coating equipment, with the opportunity to build a stable long-term career in the protective coatings industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out abrasive blasting and surface preparation to specified standards
- Prepare industrial surfaces before protective coating application
- Apply epoxy, urethane and other industrial protective coating systems
- Operate blast pots, compressors, spray equipment and related tools
- Monitor coating application to ensure consistent finish and quality
- Inspect prepared surfaces and completed coatings
- Clean, maintain and safely operate blasting and painting equipment
- Complete assigned projects efficiently and within required timeframes
- Work safely in accordance with workplace procedures and Australian Standards
- Identify and report equipment, safety or quality issues
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Work effectively with supervisors, tradespeople and other team members
- Work occasional nights and weekends when required, with penalty rates applicable
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of practical abrasive blasting experience
- Demonstrated experience in industrial blasting and protective coatings
- Previous experience applying industrial paint and coating systems
- Sound knowledge of surface preparation methods and coating techniques
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Physically capable of performing demanding industrial work
- Reliable, hardworking and able to meet project deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application is highly regarded
- AMPP/NACE or equivalent protective coatings certification is highly regarded
- Forklift licence is highly regarded
- White Card is highly regarded
- Must meet applicable requirements for visa sponsorship
