Irrigation Maintenance Assistant

A well-established Australian agricultural business in New South Wales (NSW) is seeking an experienced Drip Irrigation Technician to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale irrigated farming operation with modern irrigation systems and long-term career stability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimising drip irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution across commercial farming operations. This role offers sponsorship opportunities for suitable international candidates.

• Inspect, maintain and service drip irrigation systems to ensure reliable operation
• Identify and repair leaks in irrigation pipelines, valves and fittings
• Maintain, clean and replace irrigation filters as required
• Monitor irrigation system performance and optimise water efficiency
• Carry out pressure and flow testing to verify system functionality
• Inspect and maintain pumps, valves and irrigation accessories
• Diagnose irrigation faults and perform preventative maintenance
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other operational teams
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Assist with continuous improvements to irrigation performance and water management
• Perform general irrigation maintenance and related farming support duties as required

• Previous experience maintaining drip irrigation systems in agriculture or horticulture
• Knowledge of irrigation components including pipelines, valves, filters and fittings
• Ability to diagnose and repair irrigation system faults
• Experience using hand tools and specialised maintenance equipment safely
• Understanding of water management and irrigation efficiency principles
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, walking and working outdoors
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• Current driver's licence is advantageous
• Willingness to relocate within New South Wales
