Junior Accountant
Job Description
The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Accountant / Bookkeeper to join a well-established agribusiness in Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional or a junior accountant looking to build a long-term career within a supportive and growing business.
Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations across multiple business entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment allocation and debtor management
- Process credits, rebates and customer claims
- Reconcile customer accounts and intercompany transactions
- Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments
- Prepare aged receivables reports and collection forecasts
- Assist with customer account verification and compliance requirements
- Process payroll journals and maintain payroll records
- Prepare and assist with BAS, IAS and PAYG reporting
- Maintain general ledger entries, journals and fixed asset records
- Perform month-end and year-end reconciliations
- Assist in preparing financial reports and management reports
- Support cash flow monitoring and forecasting
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple business entities
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Collaborate with senior finance staff on reporting and financial analysis
- Use accounting software to maintain accurate financial data
- Participate in finance meetings and provide ad hoc reporting
Requirements & Eligibility
- Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Minimum three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts or accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
- Experience with payroll processing and Australian tax compliance
- Understanding of IFRS and/or Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience using accounting software such as NetSuite or Reckon is advantageous
- Experience working in a multi-entity business environment is desirable
- CPA or CA studies will be highly regarded
