The Opportunity
Take the next step in your cabinetmaking career with an established Queensland cabinetry and joinery business seeking two experienced Leading Hand Cabinetmakers.
This opportunity is designed for skilled tradespeople who can combine hands-on cabinetmaking expertise with team leadership. You’ll play an important role in keeping workshop production organised, maintaining quality standards and supporting a team to deliver projects efficiently.
Your practical experience and leadership ability will be highly valued, with the opportunity to take greater responsibility within a professional production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support cabinetmakers and apprentices within the workshop
- Coordinate day-to-day production activities and maintain an efficient workflow
- Use your cabinetmaking expertise to guide team members and resolve production issues
- Manufacture, assemble and finish quality cabinetry and joinery
- Check completed work to ensure high standards of workmanship and accuracy
- Interpret architectural drawings, plans, specifications and measurements
- Operate and oversee the safe use of workshop machinery and equipment
- Monitor production progress and help the team meet required deadlines
- Provide practical support and technical guidance to less experienced team members
- Assist with cabinetry installations when required
- Maintain an organised, clean and safe workshop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and encourage safe work practices
- Work closely with the production team to improve efficiency and output
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade-qualified Cabinetmaker with Certificate III or an equivalent qualification
- Proven professional experience in cabinetmaking and joinery
- Demonstrated ability to manufacture and assemble quality cabinetry
- Previous Leading Hand or team leadership experience is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of workshop production processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications
- Competent and safe use of relevant cabinetmaking machinery and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and team leadership skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work to production deadlines
- Ability to take responsibility and lead by example
- Positive, practical and team-oriented approach
