The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join a well-established automotive service centre in Western Australia (WA). This full-time position is ideal for a qualified mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality vehicle servicing, repairs, and diagnostics across a wide range of passenger vehicles and 4WDs.
You will work in a supportive, team-oriented workshop with ongoing training and career development opportunities, including the chance to obtain additional industry qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Carry out mechanical repairs on light vehicles and 4WDs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment
- Conduct vehicle inspections and identify repair requirements
- Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, clutches, timing belts and engine components
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to achieve daily targets
- Assist with workshop operations and supervisory duties when required
- Deliver high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years of post-trade experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic
- Strong experience in servicing, repairing and diagnosing a wide range of vehicle makes and models
- Experience replacing timing belts, clutches and head gaskets is highly desirable
- Air Conditioning Service Licence is advantageous but not essential
- Valid driver's licence
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
- Professional, reliable and punctual work ethic
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training
