The Opportunity
A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters with a background in Pulp & Paper manufacturing to join its high-performing maintenance team in Victoria, Australia.

You will work within a large-scale manufacturing environment, supporting critical plant equipment and ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, gearboxes, and bearings
- Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, and equipment overhauls
- Assist with machinery installation, commissioning, and upgrade projects
- Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with electrical, production, and operations teams
- Conduct risk assessments and follow safe work procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Assist with fabrication and welding tasks where required
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent international qualification
- Previous experience working within a Pulp & Paper manufacturing environment is essential
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with conveyors, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, bearings, and industrial machinery
- Exposure to PLC-controlled manufacturing environments
- Ability to work effectively with electrical and production teams
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Willingness to relocate to Victoria, Australia
- Eligible for employer-sponsored visa programs
- Experience using maintenance management systems such as SAP is advantageous
- Fabrication and welding experience is desirable but not essential
