We are seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle or Light Vehicle Mechanic to join an established maintenance operation in Western Australia. This opportunity is designed for experienced tradespeople who can demonstrate their technical capability, work safely in a specialised environment and take ownership of mechanical maintenance from diagnosis through to completion.

Rather than a routine workshop position, the role provides exposure to fleet vehicles, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and specialised aviation-related equipment. Candidates seeking sponsorship may also be considered, subject to suitability and eligibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service and maintain fleet vehicles and specialised Ground Support Equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical faults using structured troubleshooting and practical technical knowledge
  • Complete repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard
  • Attend equipment breakdowns and restore vehicles and machinery to safe operating condition
  • Work with diesel engines, hydraulic systems and associated mechanical components
  • Identify recurring faults and recommend appropriate maintenance solutions
  • Complete maintenance tasks in accordance with safety, quality and operational procedures
  • Maintain accurate daily records of completed work and identified issues
  • Manage assigned jobs independently while maintaining communication with the wider team
  • Demonstrate professional conduct when interacting with clients and site personnel
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas appropriately
  • Follow specialised workplace and airside safety requirements
  • Take responsibility for the quality and reliability of completed repairs

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Current HR Driver’s Licence
  • Strong mechanical diagnosis and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to demonstrate practical trade competence and reliable work history
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Professional approach to safety, maintenance and customer service
  • Ability to obtain a Police Clearance
  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Ability to successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening
  • Diesel, hydraulic or breakdown maintenance experience advantageous
  • Welding experience advantageous
  • Ground Support Equipment or aviation-related experience advantageous
  • Willingness to work with specialised equipment in a safety-critical environment
