Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality mental health nursing and clinical care
- Conduct comprehensive mental health and psychiatric assessments
- Develop, implement and evaluate individual care plans
- Monitor patient progress and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support to patients
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical officers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support patients, families and carers through education and recovery planning
- Promote patient safety and ensure compliance with mental health legislation and clinical standards
- Participate in case reviews, care planning and discharge planning
- Maintain professional standards, ethical practice and patient confidentiality
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities
- Deliver compassionate, person-centred mental health care
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or eligibility to obtain registration
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in mental health nursing or mental health clinical practice
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment and mental health care principles
- Sound understanding of relevant Australian mental health legislation and clinical practice standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing will be highly regarded
- Willingness to relocate to Australia
