Motor Mechanic

A well-established automotive service business in New South Wales is looking for a capable Motor Mechanic who can demonstrate genuine hands-on experience, sound technical knowledge and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

• Diagnose mechanical faults across engines, transmissions, steering and other vehicle systems
• Inspect engines and mechanical components to identify faults, damage and wear
• Remove, dismantle and inspect mechanical assemblies as required
• Repair, replace and rebuild defective or worn vehicle components
• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups and other routine servicing tasks
• Use computerised diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle faults
• Follow manufacturer specifications, technical information and service procedures
• Test repaired vehicles and components to confirm safe and reliable operation
• Complete mechanical repairs to a high standard with attention to detail
• Identify repairs and maintenance required to keep vehicles roadworthy
• Maintain accurate and professional workshop practices
• Follow workplace health, safety and environmental requirements
• Work collaboratively with other automotive professionals to complete jobs efficiently

• Certificate III or higher qualification in Automotive Technology, Motor Mechanics or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of relevant practical experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Demonstrated experience in vehicle servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Experience using computerised vehicle diagnostic equipment
• Good understanding of modern automotive mechanical systems
• Ability to interpret technical and manufacturer service information
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Good communication and professional customer service skills
• Overseas candidates must be able to provide evidence of their qualifications and relevant employment experience
• Candidates must meet applicable requirements for the nominated visa pathway
