Poultry Farm Manager

We’re looking for a capable Poultry Farm Manager to take responsibility for a large-scale broiler operation in New South Wales.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced poultry professional who wants more than a job title. You’ll be trusted to lead production, manage people and maintain high standards across the entire growing cycle, with an established support structure behind you.

• Lead the daily operation of a multi-shed broiler farm
• Manage bird performance, health, welfare, feeding and water systems
• Monitor production results and implement actions to improve efficiency
• Lead, supervise and develop farm employees
• Prepare staff rosters and coordinate daily workforce requirements
• Oversee ventilation, temperature, humidity and overall shed conditions
• Manage shed preparation, clean-out and turnaround between production cycles
• Maintain strict biosecurity, animal welfare and workplace safety standards
• Coordinate servicing and maintenance of farm equipment and infrastructure
• Monitor ventilation, feeding, drinking and generator systems
• Maintain accurate production, livestock and operational records
• Use farm data and management systems to track performance
• Work with external technical specialists, veterinarians and processor representatives
• Identify operational issues early and implement practical solutions
• Report farm performance and key operational matters to senior management
• Participate in an after-hours and on-call roster when required

• Demonstrated commercial broiler poultry experience
• Previous poultry farm management experience or strong 2IC experience ready for the next step
• Proven ability to lead and manage a farm team
• Strong understanding of poultry production, welfare and biosecurity
• Practical knowledge of poultry shed ventilation and environmental management
• Ability to interpret production information and respond to performance issues
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
• Comfortable using computers and farm management systems
• Calm, practical and accountable approach to problem solving
• Current driver’s licence
• Willingness to live on farm and participate in an on-call roster
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare, safety and farm performance
