Production Team Member/Supervisor

Take the next step in your food manufacturing career with a growing New Zealand food business looking for a capable Production Supervisor / Operator to join its close-knit production team.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who understands that successful food production is about more than simply operating machinery. You will help coordinate daily manufacturing, maintain production standards, ensure recipes and processes are followed accurately, and support the team in delivering consistent, high-quality products.

You will work closely with the Production Manager while taking responsibility for key areas of the daily operation. As part of a growing business, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine contribution, improve production processes and help maintain the standards behind a well-established food brand.

• Coordinate daily production activities and support the team in achieving production targets
• Supervise production processes to ensure schedules are completed on time and in full
• Prepare batches and manufacture products according to approved recipes and specifications
• Accurately weigh ingredients and verify their quality before production
• Operate mixers, fillers and other food manufacturing machinery
• Monitor production output and maintain consistent product quality
• Ensure recipes, measurements and production procedures are followed accurately
• Identify production issues and contribute practical ideas for continuous improvement
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice
• Complete production cleaning, sanitation and daily washdowns
• Ensure the production area remains clean, organised and safe
• Assist with training and supporting other production team members
• Help ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and within required timeframes
• Work closely with the Production Manager and wider team to achieve operational goals
• Follow all workplace Health & Safety requirements and food manufacturing procedures
• Contribute across different areas of the production operation when required

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or commercial food production
• Experience in a Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Operator or similar role
• Experience working within an approved food control plan environment
• Practical knowledge of food safety, quality control and manufacturing procedures
• Experience operating food production machinery, particularly mixers and fillers
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling recipes and ingredients
• Ability to supervise production while remaining actively involved in hands-on work
• Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain productivity during repetitive tasks
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Quick learner with the ability to understand new machinery and processes
• Reliable, organised and committed to meeting daily production targets
• Strong understanding of workplace cleanliness and hygiene requirements
• Willingness to undertake cleaning and washdown duties as part of the role
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately
• Current forklift licence is advantageous
