Project Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with a strong civil infrastructure background to join an established construction team in Queensland (QLD). This permanent opportunity is suited to professionals who can demonstrate solid project delivery experience, strong technical knowledge and the ability to work confidently alongside project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

The role provides the opportunity to contribute to major construction works while taking responsibility for engineering coordination, project planning, quality, commercial monitoring and safe project delivery.

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across civil construction projects
• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project delivery and technical coordination
• Ensure construction activities meet approved drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules and safety requirements
• Prepare and maintain project plans, construction programs and work schedules
• Provide practical engineering advice to site teams and project stakeholders
• Review civil, structural and services documentation and identify technical requirements
• Prepare and manage technical queries and coordinate resolutions with relevant stakeholders
• Assist with the selection and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance, costs and contractual requirements
• Coordinate construction sequencing and ensure works progress according to program
• Monitor project quality and ensure required quality control processes are followed
• Track project expenditure and assist with budget management
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Identify potential project risks, delays and technical issues and assist with corrective actions
• Maintain a strong focus on safe construction practices and project compliance
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and clients

• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 7 years of professional engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience working on civil infrastructure or major construction projects
• Strong ability to interpret civil, structural and services drawings
• Proven experience managing technical queries and engineering issues
• Good understanding of construction planning, scheduling and sequencing
• Experience managing subcontractor and supplier costs and budgets
• Knowledge of construction quality control systems and procedures
• Strong project coordination and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
• Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer-sponsored employment
