The Opportunity
A major opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Manager with the technical capability and leadership skills to manage complex building and venue projects in New Zealand.
This role is suited to professionals who can demonstrate their experience, qualifications, technical knowledge, and project delivery capability. As a client-side Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects across operational facilities where quality, safety, budget, timelines, and stakeholder expectations all need to be managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex building, construction, refurbishment, and renewal projects
- Manage projects from initial planning and scoping through to completion
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, scopes, and delivery plans
- Monitor project risks, costs, quality, compliance, and performance
- Manage physical works within live and operational venues
- Coordinate building services including electrical, mechanical, fire, structural, and water systems
- Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, standards, building codes, and consent requirements
- Prepare project reports and provide updates to senior stakeholders
- Identify project risks and implement practical solutions
- Manage contracts, project documentation, procurement, and reporting requirements
- Maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Support continuous improvement across project delivery
- Mentor team members and share technical knowledge
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven senior-level project management experience
- Experience delivering complex construction, building, renewal, refurbishment, or fit-out projects
- Strong technical understanding of building systems and services
- Experience within large or complex building portfolios
- Knowledge of New Zealand Building Code, consents, and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of NZS 3910 and consultancy services contracts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Demonstrated project planning, financial, risk, and programme management capability
- Ability to work effectively within live and operational environments
- Relevant Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related qualification desirable
- Relevant industry experience may be considered alongside formal qualifications
- Strong verifiable employment and professional experience
