QS / Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join a well-established construction company in Auckland, New Zealand. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of commercial, residential and light civil construction projects while combining quantity surveying, estimating and project coordination responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost planning, tendering, procurement and project delivery, with opportunities to take on project management responsibilities when required. Accredited Work Visa Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas applicants.

• Engage with clients to assess project requirements and prepare project scopes
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quotations, tenders and project budgets
• Monitor project costs, variations, progress claims and financial reporting
• Coordinate procurement of materials and subcontractor services
• Manage subcontractor agreements and contract administration
• Support project planning, scheduling and cost control throughout project delivery
• Assist with project management responsibilities on selected projects
• Ensure projects are completed within agreed budgets, timelines and quality standards
• Provide advice on construction methods, compliance and New Zealand building requirements
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance procedures
• Contribute to successful delivery of commercial, residential and light civil construction projects

• Minimum 3 years of Quantity Surveying or Estimating experience within the New Zealand construction industry
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Previous hands-on construction or building industry experience in New Zealand
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and construction compliance requirements
• Previous LBP experience or accreditation will be highly regarded
• Excellent estimating, budgeting and cost management skills
• Experience managing tenders, procurement and subcontractor contracts
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work under changing priorities
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance processes
• Current driver's licence preferred
