The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join a well-established hospitality group operating multiple successful dining venues in New Zealand. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys leading teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving operational excellence.
You will oversee all front-of-house operations, manage and develop staff, maintain compliance with industry regulations, and contribute to the ongoing success and profitability of the business. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily front-of-house operations
- Deliver outstanding customer service and guest satisfaction
- Supervise, mentor, and support Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and FOH staff
- Recruit, onboard, train, and manage team performance
- Handle customer feedback and resolve escalated issues professionally
- Coordinate restaurant bookings, private functions, and special events
- Manage ordering, stock control, stocktakes, and cash handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, liquor licensing, and employment legislation
- Monitor operational performance, financial reports, and key business KPIs
- Implement strategies to improve service standards, team performance, and profitability
- Maintain a positive, professional, and high-performing workplace culture
- Work collaboratively with senior management to achieve business objectives
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of hospitality industry experience
- At least 1.5 years of experience in a restaurant management or leadership role
- Current Manager's Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience using hospitality POS and staff rostering systems
- Strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and responsible service requirements
- Ability to analyse financial reports and improve operational performance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for hospitality and leading successful teams
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
