The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy hospitality business in Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional with strong leadership and business management skills to join a growing organisation offering long-term career development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store performance, leading and developing staff, maintaining high customer service standards, overseeing inventory and financial performance, and ensuring compliance with workplace and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the business
- Lead and supervise daily store activities
- Monitor sales performance and profitability
- Control labour costs and operating expenses
- Prepare and manage staff rosters
- Recruit, onboard and train new employees
- Provide coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Maintain high customer service standards
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock purchasing
- Conduct regular stocktakes and minimise wastage
- Maintain supplier relationships
- Analyse sales reports and identify business improvement opportunities
- Implement strategies to increase revenue and operational efficiency
- Ensure food quality, presentation and service consistency
- Maintain workplace health and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate business and operational records
- Support continuous business growth and team development
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a Retail Manager, Café Manager or similar hospitality management role
- Experience managing a high-volume hospitality or retail operation
- Experience supervising and leading a team of 10 or more employees
- Experience preparing staff rosters and managing labour costs
- Experience with inventory control and purchasing
- Strong financial management and sales analysis skills
- Excellent leadership and people management abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to resolve problems and make sound business decisions
- Experience using POS systems and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays
- Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Business or Management is advantageous
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desirable
- First Aid Certificate is desirable
- Experience with hospitality POS systems is an advantage
- Experience opening new stores or managing multiple locations is advantageous
