Senior Estimator

A leading Australian civil construction company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing team in Queensland (QLD). This is an excellent opportunity to work on major civil infrastructure, concrete, FRP, and earthworks projects valued between $10M and $100M.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate project estimates, managing tender submissions, reviewing project budgets, and supporting commercial outcomes across large-scale infrastructure projects.

• Prepare accurate end-to-end first principle estimates for civil infrastructure projects
• Develop detailed project cost estimates and budgets
• Review and validate estimates prepared by other estimators
• Conduct risk and opportunity assessments before tender submissions
• Prepare tender clarifications, assumptions, and commercial queries
• Manage project variations, progress claims, and pricing adjustments
• Support contract administration and commercial documentation
• Communicate project risks, opportunities, and tender conditions to management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders
• Ensure estimating activities comply with industry standards and procurement requirements
• Contribute to the successful delivery of major self-performed infrastructure projects

• Minimum 10 years of estimating experience within the civil construction or infrastructure industry
• Experience estimating concrete, FRP, earthworks, or large civil infrastructure projects
• Experience working on projects valued between $10M and $100M
• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Management, Contracts Management, or a related field is preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement processes, and industry standards
• Experience using estimating software is highly desirable
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tender deadlines
