Sous Chef

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Chef to join a well-established hospitality venue in Victoria, Australia. This full-time role offers the chance to work in a supportive kitchen alongside an experienced Head Chef, preparing high-quality dishes using fresh local produce.

• Prepare and present high-quality meals to established standards
• Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation and preparation times
• Assist with menu planning and the creation of daily specials
• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Support and mentor junior chefs and apprentices
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment
• Ensure food preparation follows standard recipes and kitchen procedures
• Monitor food quality, stock rotation and kitchen hygiene practices
• Contribute ideas to improve menu offerings and kitchen performance
• Promote teamwork and deliver excellent dining experiences

• Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent industry experience
• Previous experience working as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation and kitchen operations
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
• Passion for producing high-quality food using fresh ingredients
• Ability to supervise, support and train junior kitchen staff
• Willingness to relocate to regional Victoria
