Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join a busy, quality-focused hospitality venue in New South Wales (NSW). This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to work alongside an experienced Head Chef, helping to deliver exceptional dining experiences while leading and developing a high-performing kitchen team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining food quality, supporting daily kitchen operations, and ensuring efficient service in a fast-paced environment

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
• Lead and supervise the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control
• Assist with ordering, stock management and inventory control
• Monitor food costs and minimise waste
• Train, mentor and support kitchen staff
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace cleanliness standards
• Assist with kitchen rostering, preparation planning and organisation
• Ensure smooth kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
• Work collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen teams
• Contribute to menu consistency and continuous kitchen improvement

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Junior Sous Chef
• Experience working in a busy, quality-focused restaurant environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Ability to remain calm and perform well under pressure
• Passion for food, hospitality and delivering high-quality dishes
• Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
• Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts
