Sous Chef

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Sous Chef to join a well-established hospitality venue in Queensland. This role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, supporting the Head Chef, and leading a motivated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high food quality, consistency, and excellent kitchen operations while contributing to menu development and delivering outstanding dining experiences.

• Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
•  Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with menu standards
•  Supervise and support kitchen staff during service
•  Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
•  Assist with menu planning and seasonal menu development
•  Monitor food preparation, portion control, and waste minimisation
•  Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
•  Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
•  Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management
•  Train and mentor junior kitchen team members
•  Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
•  Collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role
•  Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations
•  Excellent leadership and team management skills
•  Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
•  Passion for preparing high-quality food and maintaining consistency
•  Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
•  Excellent communication and organisational skills
•  Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
•  Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
•  Relevant culinary qualifications are preferred
