Sports Development Officer

Join a growing sports organisation in Western Australia committed to increasing community participation and athlete development through structured sports programs. This role offers the opportunity to coordinate participation initiatives, develop athlete pathways, work closely with schools and community organisations, and contribute to the growth of a well-established academy. You will play a key role in delivering inclusive sports development programs while supporting community engagement and long-term participation strategies.

• Develop, implement and evaluate sports participation and development programs
• Coordinate junior, youth and adult participation initiatives
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organisations and sporting bodies
• Plan and coordinate training camps, community clinics and promotional events
• Develop strategies to encourage inclusive participation across diverse communities
• Coordinate athlete development pathways from beginner to advanced levels
• Monitor participation data and prepare reports to evaluate program outcomes
• Assist with funding applications, sponsorship proposals and community partnership initiatives
• Coordinate schedules for development programs, facilities and resources
• Work closely with coaches and program staff to ensure successful program delivery
• Promote academy programs through community engagement and marketing activities
• Assist with the planning and delivery of tournaments, competitions and community events
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, sporting regulations and workplace health and safety requirements
• Maintain positive relationships with participants, parents, schools and community stakeholders
• Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in sports development

• Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Sport Development, Sports Management, Physical Education, Exercise and Sport Science, Recreation Management or a related field
• Minimum three years of relevant post-qualification experience in sports development, community sport, program coordination or recreation management
• Experience developing and coordinating community participation or athlete development programs
• Strong understanding of sports development principles and participant pathway programs
• Experience working with schools, sporting organisations and community stakeholders
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple programs and projects while meeting deadlines
• Strong administration, reporting and project management skills
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
• Current First Aid Certificate is desirable
