As Store Manager, you will play a key role in shaping store performance, developing a motivated team, and ensuring customers receive knowledgeable, high-quality service. You will be supported by an experienced Assistant Manager and wider regional leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily retail operations and take ownership of overall store performance
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership across the retail floor
- Coach team members to improve sales capability, product knowledge, and customer engagement
- Build a motivated, accountable, and supportive team culture
- Set clear expectations and monitor progress against store KPIs
- Oversee stock management, administration, merchandising, and operational processes
- Identify practical opportunities to increase sales and improve customer experience
- Support employee development through structured training and ongoing coaching
- Work closely with the Assistant Manager to maintain consistent store standards
- Collaborate with regional leadership to implement business priorities
- Ensure the store consistently delivers professional service and presentation
- Use strong product knowledge to help customers select appropriate outdoor equipment and technical products
- Lead by example and contribute positively to the wider business culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in retail management or senior-level retail leadership
- Store Manager experience preferred, with strong Senior Assistant Managers encouraged to apply
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a retail team
- Strong sales capability with an understanding of commercial performance
- Confident working directly with customers and leading from the shop floor
- Good organisational, administrative, and operational management skills
- Strong communication and people-management abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider leadership structure
- Genuine interest in outdoor recreation, adventure, technical apparel, or outdoor equipment
- Professional approach to customer service and team leadership
- Relevant experience is essential for candidates seeking Accredited Employer sponsorship
- Ability to meet the applicable requirements for New Zealand employment and visa sponsorship
- Willingness to work the required Tuesday–Saturday roster
